Advantages

Advantages to using Accutrex Products for your abrasive waterjet cutting:

  • No heat distortion of material or part
  • No burrs
  • Repeatability
  • Multiple-Head Cutting
  • Can cut virtually any material up to 6" thick
  • Irregular shapes with no tooling

Abrasive Waterjet Cutting

Abrasive waterjet cutting utilizes ultra-high pressure water forced through a very small nozzle opening, creating a very fine, jet stream of water that alone, can cut through many materials. Abrasives, such as garnet, can be added to the water to enable our abrasive waterjet cutting machine to cut through the hardest of materials, including thick metals, leaving smooth, precise edges.

Accutrex has added abrasive waterjet cutting to its vast array of cutting capabilities for a variety of reasons. When you cut materials with an abrasive waterjet, there is no heat-affected zone, which eliminates distortion and burning of the material. Abrasive waterjet cutting is an excellent way to cut precision parts out of our AccuPeel™ line of laminated materials. We also use our abrasive waterjet to cut brass, copper, plastics, thick gasketing materials, and other alloys that our lasers cannot cut. Abrasive waterjet cutting is a great cutting option for prototypes and small quantity jobs out of these materials that would normally require an expensive die or machining. Our abrasive waterjet cutting machine has multiple heads, which we use to cut your parts quickly, uniformly and accurately!
